Cashier's Farmers Market

While we were away this past weekend for my brother-in-laws wedding we had a little time, between the rehearsal and the wedding, to do a little sight seeing around Cashiers, North Carolina (a small town in the mountains of Western North Carolina...about an hour west of Asheville).

One stop we made was to the Cashier's Farmers Market

I packed up this little cutie and we went exploring

The market is decorated with all sorts of items from old farm equipment, ceramic pigs, to gas station signs

As well as informative little signs like this

There's a happy thought!!!

There was also this crate of metal objects.  I assume they are to grind something but it wasn't terribly clear.

So needless to say there was plenty of visual intrigue.  The produce and products available did not disappoint.

Take this wall of peaches...YUM!

And then there was some jars of items that I didn't purchase, but sure was intrigued as to their taste.  I'll say nothing further but let you see for yourself.

Frog Jam?

Actually FROG stands for Fig, Raspberry, Orange, and Ginger.

Good to know that there weren't any frogs injured in the making of this jam.

This jar was my favorite:

I really debated whether or not to put this up but I decided what the heck.

The market really is very well stocked with anything you could possibly need and some great gift items as well.

For Caroline the lure of beautiful caramel cakes we almost more then she could handle and she had to be dragged away

If you are in Western Carolina I would recommend stopping by and checking things out.

Day 4 of Operation Declutter My House is donate these cookbooks which have been sitting on my bookshelves longer then I have been married (and I am pretty sure I haven't touched them once).

I hope you all have a happy weekend and try to stay cool.  Here in the South it has been scorching.

  1. Love your blog!

Had to laugh when I saw the FROG jam. We bought some last summer in South Carolina (coincidentally, right after my sister's wedding in the mountains of Georgia). I just had to try it! So glad I did too, it's delicious!!
