Elf on the Shelf

I am one of those parents who has the Elf on the Shelf.

Before you roll your eyes, or think less of me let me explain.

I am not one of those parents who takes tons of time to have the elf wreak havoc all over my house.

Seriously who thought this was a good idea...I mean after all YOU have to clean it up:

This site is dedicated to 101 ideas of trouble...WHAT is that about?
The point of the elf is to move him from room to room so that he can "listen" and "watch" the kids and report back to Santa each night (how else could the jolly one keep up with who is on the naughty and nice list).

I did find on Pinterest some very neat ideas with what you could do and I wanted to share:

The last one is my kind of elf!!!

Do you have any holiday shenanigans that you participate in?

Have you gotten suckered into being an elf owner?

Happy Wednesday to you all!

  2. How lovely, this elf idea is so cute and I bet it's so effective!
The only activity I participate in during Christmas is the Guardian Angel, when every one picks a random name of a friend from a bowl and has to anonymously surprise him during a week, and on Christmas day he should buy a real big gift and reveal his name.

  3. This is so funny. No I don't have the elf, but my sister in law does and she loves it. I love the images you chose to put up for this, hilarious. We don't really practice any shenanigans, but I know my kids would love this elf for sure. Hope you're doing well. Take great care,

    Shauna xoxo

  4. I love Chuck! And you know the kids love the whole thing! I just wish I'd known about him when you and Matt were little.

    Love always,
    Mom

  5. What a fun idea! I would love to have a little elf in the house. I can just imagine the mischief he would get up to ;)
I've been so busy these last few weeks that I haven't really thought about Christmas yet. I've only just put the Christmas cake in the oven today, so I'm a couple of weeks behind on that. I'm hoping that once Dec 1st hits, that'll kick start the festive spirit in me ;)
Have a great weekend Rachel. It's been lovely to read your post today. I've been missing 'your voice' in blogging world xxx
