Happy Valentine's Day

Some people will do anything for love...this though might be crossing a few lines...OUCH!

Today people will take time out of their day today to let people know they love them.

I've set up e-cards to be sent to my husband every hour, on the hour, while he is at work (he doesn't read my blog...so this reveal won't ruin the surprise of receiving harassing loving messages).

Seriously who wouldn't want to get messages like this:

someecards.com - I love you like cavemen loved meat.

someecards.com - I want to grow old and disgusting with you

For us we don't like the mushy cards, with tons of words, quick sarcastic banter is the way we roll.

I hope whatever you are doing today that you have fun and that it is filled with love.

Remember tomorrow I will announce the winner of my Wholesome Sweeteners gift basket...you still have a chance to win, just head to the post here.

Here is a fun little tidbit I learned on the radio today.  Apparently those who are good at whistling are also good kissers.  What do you think?

Love to Share

I haven't had a chance to share with you all the love I received this past Valentine's Day.

I know shame on me for taking so long, but I promise it was an awesome gift.

Not from my husband, but from the good people at Conscious Box.

I was lucky enough to receive one of their February boxes that happend to have a little "adult" content.

Would you like to see what I was gifted with?

I hope you said "Yes" because here it is:

Here is my box all nicely and eco-friendly wrapped

The excitement as we go to open the box is almost more than Caroline and I can take

So we pulled out all of the goodies and examined the contents

The card is embedded with seeds to plant in the ground...how cool!!!

I just read about Natural Calm and am very excited to give it a try...kind of like the people at Conscious Box knew what I needed :)

The item I am most looking forward to trying is Love Grown.  I have heard so much about it on other blogs that I am thankful for the opportunity to try it myself, now I just have to decide what to put it on.

There were three items left, but this is a family friendly blog so I won't show you the items, but just leave it with the following disclaimer:

My box was just so very full of the most amazing things and wonderful items that really fit in with my way of living (more natural and organic).

Now I am eternally grateful to Conscious Box for sending me their February box and to thank them I would like to give one of you, my wonderful readers, a Conscious Box of your own.

To win the rules are simple, I like to keep things from being to complicated:

To enter leave a comment and let me know if you've tried any of the items pictured and what you thought of them.

For additional entries you are welcome to do the following (and make sure you leave a separate comment):

1) Like Conscious Box on Twitter
2) Like me on Twitter

The giveaway will be open until Friday March 9th and is open to US readers (sorry they don't have shipping outside of the U.S.).

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day

Today is day in which we are reminded to tell people we love them (if you have a second Google has a super cute video).

Valentine's Day was first romanticized by Geoffrey Chaucer back in the high middle ages (so says Wikipedia).

However it is more than just telling your spouse/significant other and children you love them, be sure to think beyond the immediate family and branch out to friends and co-workers.

You can show them that you care by doing something nice for them or bringing in a nice little treat for everyone to share.  For example the man at the top of the totem pole in my office brought in cupcakes for everyone (homemade by his wife...we know most men have difficulty baking).

This morning I spent a laborious amount of time preparing lunches for my boys today (I will share the cuteness tomorrow) and making sure that things were red and/or heart shaped.

I don't know if they care one way or another, but I hope they enjoy the extra prep work (even if just a little bit).

To show my love for you, my readers, I am giving you a giveaway.

I promised when I reached 100 followers of my site I would host a giveaway...I am a little late as I am now at 111, however let's not by picky.

In honor of Valentine's Day I would like to give one of you a subscription to one of the magazine's below:

If an international reader wins I will fix you up a little care package.

To enter the giveaway please leave a comment below (anything will do just leave me some love!!).  The giveaway will be open only today and I will post the winner tomorrow.

For extra entries you can:

  1. Tweet the giveaway (please be sure to include @rachelkyle0402) and comment that you did.  A sample would be "I want some Valentine's Day love @rachelkyle0402" and be sure to link to this post.
  2. Post on your Facebook status and comment that you did (be sure to include the link).
As if one giveaway isn't enough I have another giveaway going on for 5 bags of Food Should Taste Good chips here.

Be sure to enter both the more the merrier.

I hope you have a wonderful and happy Valentine's Day.
