Weekend Wrap Up

I don't know about you but when someone asks would you like the good news or the bad news, I always go with bad news first.

Something about getting it over with and ending things on a positive note.

This past weekend was no different.

I started off with pain and ended with a sweet time.

Saturday my friend Amy and I ran in the St. Patty's Day Revenge Obstacle Course.

There were 21 obstacles for us to go through and before we kicked off Amy and I were looking pretty cheery (although chilly):

Her husband captured photos of our fine form (nothing like going across a soccer field doing lunges):

And you know sometimes when you are called upon to do WAY more push-ups then you anticipated you just have to get down in child's post to give your arms a break:

I have been sore for two days, but it is a good sore.  I look forward to running this event next year...hopefully we can get more than the two of us on a team.

On Sunday was the sweet.  I attended the Mad Hatter Tea at the O'Henry Hotel with my daughter and mom.

The event was put on with great pageantry and detail.  The girls got to eat a plate full of treats, make crafts, and play a few games.

It was the perfect exposure to a "fancy" outing for these 3 and 4 year olds.

The hotel holds 3 of these themed teas a year.  We are looking forward to October when they host The Wizard of Oz.

It was a fantastic weekend with friends and family.

I hope you all enjoyed your time.  Did you do anything fun?

  1. Sounds like a great weekend. And congrats on that race!

On another note...have you ever read the blog SouleMama? I just found it today and thought of you. She's a mama who homesteads and homeschools. Pretty cool stuff.

  2. Hey! What a fun weekend, it's so great to see you in picture! I love the idea of an obstacle throughout the city. That is great.

How fun with the hats!!! What a great time it looked like.

We spent the weekend seeing my daughter do her play she has been practicing for, for two months. So much fun!

    Happy Week!!

  3. Oh your daughter is adorable Rachel! She looks so much like you, I am sure you get that a lot.

That tea party sounds so much fun, how nice that your mom could join you, and TWOO theme is sure to be tons of fun too.

Congrats on the race and did I have fun this weekend? Judging by the tornado that swept through it we did! But now it's time to clean it all up. Ughhh.

  4. I LOVED the tea!! It was so special to be there with the two of y'all!

    Love you!!!

  5. Oh my goodness. That obstacle course sounds crazy. I would absolutely fail at it given the shape I'm in right now. You are awesome!!

Caroline looks so sweet in her pretty dress and paper hat. She looks so grown up in the picture with her bff!

  6. Just catching up on all my blog reading! Looks like you have been busy! I really love that you are making a smaller footprint on our earth - you have inspired my to look for ways to reduce my plastic usage!

  7. Oh my sweet goodness! That tea party is just too adorable. What a busy but good weekend you had. Thank you for sharing it with me!

  8. The obstacle course sounds very cool and the tea party sounds like so much fun!
